Gorgeous Three: one more tunnelling machine has been shipped to Corum Druzhkovka Machine-Building Plant

Corum Druzhkovka Machine-Building Plant produced the third in a series tunnelling machine KPD for the mines of Pavlograd and Dobropolye. One was shipped to the Pavlogradskoye Mine Administration, and two more were shipped to the Belozerskoye Mine Administration. The hot period is non-stop at the plant: the miners are waiting for 4 new tunnelling machines KPD from Druzhkovka Plant.

On June 30, the Pioner mine received new tunnelling machine KPD. It will be used for primary mining in the 4th northern longwall of the bed m42 with reserves of about 1 million tonnes of coal. The tunneling men of the development area No. 7 will operate the equipment. At the earliest opportunity, the machine will be lowered under the ground, where it will be erected and adjusted.

The own production and assembly of the tunnelling machines KPD is a new stage in the development of Corum Druzhkovka Machine-Building Plant. Earlier in the year, the plant acquired a license to produce the tunnelling machines KPD and immediately commenced producing the first one. Three tunnelling machines of Druzhkovka Plant have already been transferred to the Ternovskaya, Belozerskaya and Pioner mines. The next is the order fulfillment for four tunnelling machines KPD for the Pershotravenskoye and Ternovskoye Mine Administrations.

“Each time, tunnelling machines KPD are increasingly becoming the achievement of Druzhkovka Plant, which has successfully adopted the experience in producing this sophisticated equipment from Kharkov colleagues,” commented on Tatyana Kalugina, Director of Corum Druzhkovka Machine-Building Plant. – “We not only mastered the full cycle of production and assembly of the tunnelling machines in a short time but also upgraded them, making them even more reliable and convenient to operate. I am proud of our shared success!”

These advantages have not escaped the attention of the Belozerskoye Mine Administration, where the tunnelling machines KPD produced by Corum account for about 75% of all the tunneling equipment. “The personnel of our area have already operated the tunnelling machine KPD, but the previous model. The new machine is far more advanced: it is operated with remote control using radio signal or flexible cable. The operator can be in the most convenient and safer place for him, which influences the equipment productivity in general," said Andrei Streltsov, team leader of the tunneling men, area No.7.

New machines have the reinforced steel structure of the main elements, improved design of the conveyor turning section, and also increased life of the actuator gear. The machines of the latest releases are equipped with electronic visualization system that allows monitoring and, if necessary, taking prophylactic measures for various assemblies. Last but not least, the tunnelling machines KPD are very mobile despite their impressive weight and dimensions.

Earlier, Corum tunnelling machines were produced at Corum Svet Shakhtyora Plant in cooperation with Corum Druzhkovka Machine-Building Plant, which produced steel structures and other components for them. At the moment, the production of the tunnelling machines is concentrated in Druzhkovka.
