Innovative battery YaVL-900: a new solution for electric locomotives

Our machine builders have released a completely new product - the YaVL-900 battery box for operation with AM8D electric locomotives, designed by the order of DTEK Pavlograd coal miners.

This device was created in order to significantly improve operational characteristics and extend the service life of electric locomotives.

The key feature of this device is a battery pack based on large-capacity lithium batteries. This significantly increases energy efficiency - increases device service life to 11 years. For comparison: the service life of previous batteries, which are currently used in mines, is only 1.5 years.

Thanks to the innovative box, it is also possible to reduce the number of electric locomotives downtimes for battery replacement by 2.5 times, which leads to a significant time and resources saving.

New device has been reduced in height, which provides the driver with a wider view when moving backwards at a distance of up to 15 meters. The box has already passed the necessary certification, including node tests, and additionally confirmed high reliability and compliance with safety standards.

To ensure the safe operator work, data visualization of the battery state, such as the remaining charge, voltage and load current, is provided. This is an additional step in the direction of improving electric locomotives efficiency and control.
