Corum will lease five tunnelling machines to the Polish mines

Corum Group concluded the contracts for delivery of tunnelling equipment for Polska Grupa Górnicza (PGG) and Jastrzębska Spółka Węglową (JSW). They will be rented for three years. The total amount of the concluded contracts is PLN 22.8 million (EUR 5.3 million).

The first machine KPD designed for JSW will start operating at the Szczyglowice mine in August. The design of the machine serial model has been significantly modified in accordance with the customer requirements for maximum adaptation to the conditions of the customer mine. It is equipped with 150 kW engine and effective sector irrigation system to suppress dust and prevent sparking when operating in the face.

“Our tunnelling machines proved to be excellent in the coal mining companies in Poland, have been operating here since 2013,” comments on Mikhail Potapov, CEO at Corum Group. - It is noteworthy that we delvered our first machine KPD to the Polish market just right for JSW, and it has been successfully operated to this day. Polish partners are looking to us for decisions with the highest quality and safety standards that will satisfy all the needs of mining companies in the operation of equipment. We have sufficient expertise to meet the current market needs.”

The machine KPD for JSW has been supplied with auxiliary equipment, which includes belt conveyor, power train, pumping station, data transmission system, visualization and monitoring system. The contract terms also include comprehensive maintenance of the equipment.

“The greatest difficulty for us in the fulfillment of this order is time,” commented on Jaroslaw Znalezniak, Director at Corum Poland. – “We had only 30 days for delivery since the conclusion of the contract, but we did our best to meet the deadline. The machine has already been handed over to the customer, the commissioning report has been signed.”

Corum intends to deliver four more tunnelling machines to Polska Grupa Górnicza. One of them for the RUDA mine is expected to be shipped by the end of September this year, the next three for the Bolesław Śmiały mine will be shipped between June and September 2019.

Let us recall that in June Corum entered into the contract with Polska Grupa Górnicza for delivery of 140 support units for the Sośnica mine. This is the first major contract for delivery of underground equipment to the Polish market. Part of the units will be ready in late August, and delivery of the whole complex will be completed by the end of 2018.

In August, representatives of Polish mining companies will carry out the working visit to Corum Svet Shakhtyora Plant. They will be presented with the mini-longwall – a prototype of the longwall complex consisting of tunnelling machine, armored face conveyor and support units.
